In mid- April, Girl Scout Troops 81322 and 80754, both from McKinley School in New Brunswick, were taught how to crochet by the talented and generous New Brunswick Senior Center participant, Margarita Seville. The Girl Scouts first received background information about the JSBP when I went to speak to the two troops. Then over the next several weeks, with the guidance and support of Ms. Seville, their Troop leader Shan Byrd and the Community Specialist for Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey, Angela Blardony, the girls were able to present Saint Peter’s University Hospital NICU with five beautiful blankets yesterday. The nurses at the NICU were warm and welcoming and I was so proud of Heaven and Tiffany who presented the blankets as representatives of their troops.
From the bottom of my heart I thank the Girl Scouts, the nurses at the NICU, Ms. Seville, Ms. Byrd and Ms. Blardony who were extraordinarily generous with their time, efforts and support! Yahoo!!!
